Daan van Poorten

Since 2024, Daan has been working at AMS Advocaten. Prior to his current role, Daan worked as Senior Legal Counsel at a growing IT company, where he was responsible for all legal and compliance matters. Before that, Daan gained significant experience as a lawyer at a mid-sized law firm, where he focused on various areas of law, ranging from mergers and acquisitions to handling bankruptcies and disputes.

Outside of his work, Daan has a passion for sports and has completed several triathlons and a marathon, highlighting his perseverance and drive. These qualities are also reflected in his legal work, where he consistently strives to achieve the best possible results for his clients.

Grotius specialization course

In 2021, Daan completed the INSOLAD/Grotius specialization course in Insolvency Law at the Grotius Academy.

Legal practice areas register

Daan is registered in the legal practice areas register of the Dutch Bar Association with corporate law and insolvency law as his main areas of practice. Based on this registration, he is required to obtain ten training points per calendar year in each registered main area, in accordance with the standards of the Dutch Bar Association.
