A formal announcement of a (legal) action in a written document, e.g., a summons or letter. Notice is prescribed in several areas of the law. Termination of a contract may, for example, have to be given in writing.
The new labour legislation includes a notification obligation for the employer. The employer is obliged to inform (‘give notice’) an employee with a fixed-term employment contract in writing at least one month before the end of the employment contract whether and under which conditions the employment contract will be extended.
