About Hein

Hein studied Dutch Law and Tax Law at Utrecht University. Following some years practising in international tax consultancy practice, Hein has been practising as a lawyer since 2008 and has been with AMS Advocaten since 2013. Previously, he worked for a medium-sized law firm in The Hague.

In addition to his daily law practice, Hein is also an expert attached to the business news website BusinessInsider.nl.


Hein focuses mainly on litigating and advising in the areas of Dutch corporate law, Dutch insolvency law, Dutch contract law, and debt collection.

Trustee in bankruptcies in the Netherlands

In addition to his regular law practice, Hein is also regularly appointed as a Dutch trustee in bankruptcies pronounced by the District Court of Amsterdam. As a lawyer, Hein regularly advises parties involved in bankruptcy on matters such as directors’ and officers’ liability, security rights and restart.

Hein has completed the postgraduate specialist programme in Insolvency Law at the Grotius Academy. This is the most comprehensive and complete postgraduate programme in insolvency law.
