Gea studied law at the University of Groningen and has been practising as a lawyer in Amsterdam since 2012. In recent years, Gea has gained extensive experience at a medium-sized law firm in Amsterdam and has been with AMS Advocaten since October 2017.
Gea specialises in Dutch liability law. In addition, Gea advises, negotiates, and litigates in the areas of Dutch corporate law, Dutch contract law, attachment and enforcement law, and debt collection.
At AMS, Gea is considered to be the expert in the area of general terms and conditions, on which she regularly advises and litigates.
As a lawyer, Gea has been involved in a major lawsuit against a well-known Dutch accounting and consultancy firm.
Gea has completed the postgraduate specialisation programme Enterprise & Liability at the Grotius Academy. Gea is a member of the Association for Liability and Compensation Law (VASR). The members of this association study and discuss the developments in liability and compensation law.
In addition to her daily law practice, Gea is also an expert on the Dutch business news website BusinessInsider.nl. In the radio programme BNR Juridische zaken (BNR Legal Affairs), Gea regularly presents her views on current legal themes.
Gea has registered as principal areas of law in the register of legal areas of the Dutch Bar Association: corporate law and contract law. On the basis of this registration, she is obliged to obtain ten training credits per calendar year in each registered principal legal area, in accordance with the standards of the Dutch Bar Association.
